Our founding partner Sjoerd de Jongh worked at Vanderlande Industries for over 20 years. During his time there, he was an integral part of the “green team” – which kickstarted Vanderlande’s sustainability efforts. In this role he was part of the team which created the worlds first cradle-to-cradle certified conveyor belt, and he led the first initiatives to lower the company’s carbon footprint through solar panel installation and electric charging initiatives. He also focused on reducing the energy consumption of the solutions, which in turn helps Vanderlande’s customers improve their business. His last project entailed the development of a carbon offset / removal strategy, as part of the company’s overall sustainability framework

Fieke de Haan, Director Corporate Sustainability at Vanderlande:

During his time at Vanderlande, Sjoerd contributed constantly to sustainability efforts for ourselves and our customers. His proposal for a Carbon offset/removal strategy can help Vanderlande set an internal price for carbon emissions, which will accelerate our reduction efforts.

Modo carsharing has set itself a big goal: to electrify their fleet by 2030. But with over 1,000 vehicles in existing locations on the streets or in condo buildings, where do they need EV chargers? How many? What capacity? And what will be the challenges for their users? Northshore Project Partners helped – applying design thinking – identify the biggest challenges and devise a number of experiments. Most of these are currently (2024) being trialed.

Erin Sullivan, Director of Fleet Operations:

Northshore Project Partners helped us clearly pinpoint our biggest challenges. They got our team to the table and made us understand each other. They helped us decide the next steps in our electrification journey.

Unitrent Packaging is always looking for opportunities to improve their business. With the move into a brand new building, there was a desire to install solar panels on the roof. But with their laserbeam focus on operations and their customers’ needs, nobody has the time or experience to investigate options or make a business case. Nortshore Project Partners helped assess the viability, get quotes and create the business case for investment in renewable energy.

Carlor Urteaga, General Manager:

Thanks to Northshore Project Partners, we now have a clear business case. They worked at our pace and with our people to get all the questions answered.
